Connecticut Moves Up the Rankings of Best States to Move to

There may be someone moving into your neighborhood or community soon.  That’s because – according to Consumer Affairs - Connecticut improved the most on the rankings of “best states to move to” since their 2024 report, jumping 17 spots.

The ConsumerAffairs Research Team identified the best states to move to by analyzing data relating to affordability, safety, economic strength, healthcare, education and quality of life. 

The newly released top 10 for 2026:  New Hampshire, Utah, Idaho, Virginia, Maine and Massachusetts.  Connecticut ranked #13.

In 2024, an estimated 7.1 million Americans packed up and moved to another state, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Consumer Affairs found that safety, comfort, stability and affordability are key in the decision-making process on where to go – if you’re leaving where you are.
