Girl Scout of Connecticut Launch Dynamic and Varied Program as New Year Approaches
/A pumpkin catapulting challenge, a STEM-infused weekend at Sikorsky: A Lockheed Martin Company and an overnight on the beach for Girl Scouts Love State Parks in conjunction with the state Department of energy and Environmental Protection – each of these exciting activities is designed to reflect the diversity of interests from girls across the state from the preeminent leadership development organization for girls - Girl Scouts of Connecticut. And that’s just a few of the action-packed events on the calendar.
The statewide Girl Scout council recently launched a power-packed roster of activities to recruit new members and adult volunteers throughout August and continuing through September, just in time for the start of the nonprofit’s next membership year beginning on October 1, 2025.
“For 113 years, Girl Scouts has always been the #1 group for girls seeking courage, confidence and connection,” said Elicia Pegues Spearman, CEO of Girl Scouts of Connecticut. “But while our underlying mission has remained the same, our programs and activities have been modernized to appeal to today’s action-oriented young women of character.”
Spearman notes that events during these two months are aimed at two audiences that help make the overall organization strong and successful: youth members and adult volunteers.
“Girl Scouts of Connecticut currently serves more than 16,000 girls and more than 9,000 adults. The organization’s new year begins in October.”
