State Steps Up Hiring Efforts, Particularly in Healthcare
/The State of Connecticut has launched an advertising campaign that will target the recruitment of state healthcare and direct support workers. The latest effort is part of a larger initiative to recruit state residents to work for various state agencies, amidst a changing job market and an increase in the number of state employees opting for retirement.
The latest initiative will run in English and Spanish on a variety of venues including radio, broadcast television, social and internet media and print, and is a joint effort by the Governor’s Office and state Departments of Administrative Services, Social Services, and Health and Human Services. The campaign highlights that state employment offers job growth opportunities, competitive benefits packages, and working in a role with purpose.
The Department of Administrative Services is reportedly spending $733,226 on the campaign, which will run through February 2023. Highlighting heart, compassion, dedication, and spirit, the campaign showcases purpose in state employment, according to officials.
The state also has a site on Linked In to promote available state jobs. The site notes that “as a small state, we have so much to offer – education, employment, culture, travel, nature, history and recreation - each of these opportunities positively impact our citizens and businesses.”
It goes on to point out that “While Hartford is Connecticut’s state capital and home to many of our agency offices, we are proud to offer positions located throughout the state. Some of our most popular work sites are located in Bridgeport, Enfield, Middletown, New Haven, Torrington, and with a higher demand throughout the Fairfield County.”
Who is Connecticut looking to employ? The site explains that “We are seeking to hire employees for locations statewide who find inspiration in our culture and values, specifically:
Committed to making an impact
Serving the public through meaningful work
Seeking limitless opportunities to grow
Enjoy a work/life balance (with competitive benefits)
Interested in diversity and fresh perspectives
“The State of Connecticut is a great place to work, start a family, and build your career while making an impact,” Governor Lamont said in highlighting the recruitment effort. “Our Connecticut state workforce is the best in country, and I encourage everyone, especially those in the healthcare fields, to take a look at what a career with us has to offer. This campaign supports our already successful agency efforts in recruiting a strong workforce in the healthcare and direct support fields.”
In addition to LinkedIn, job opportunities for state jobs are posted on other social media platforms as well, including Facebook and Instagram. To view and apply for job openings with the State of Connecticut, visit ct.gov/CTStateJobs.
