West Hartford CoWorking Plans New Location, Continued Growth, Intensified Connections
/After six thriving years at 430 New Park Avenue, West Hartford Coworking (WHCowork) has announced plans to relocate to a new, reimagined space at 557 Prospect Avenue, located at the edge of the Historic West End — a vibrant corridor bridging West Hartford and Hartford.
“We’ve always believed that where you work matters - not just to your personal productivity and mindset, but as an illustration of how you show up for your community,” said Annisa Teich, Managing Director of West Hartford Coworking. “This move is an investment in the future of the West End’s economic development. Just as we supported the revitalization of New Park Avenue from the Hartford side, we’re now ready to help bring new energy to the Prospect–Farmington corridor on the West Hartford side — one desk, one idea, and one connection at a time.”
Founded in 2016, WHCowork has built its reputation as a hub for freelancers, entrepreneurs, remote workers, and small businesses, offering flexible, affordable, and community-first workspace solutions built for the suburban lifestyle. The move, scheduled for October 2025, marks the next evolution of the business as it deepens its commitment to neighborhood-led economic revitalization.
“The Economic Development Office is thrilled to welcome WHCowork back to West Hartford!” says Kristen Gorski, Economic Development Coordinator for the Town of West Hartford. “The growth this business has achieved the last nine years has been astounding to witness, especially as they have worked diligently expanding their capabilities to support small business and entrepreneurs. The impact WHCowork will continue to have on businesses of all ages will be invaluable to helping West Hartford continue to be a community for them to grow and thrive”.
Located just minutes from the current location on New Park Avenue, 557 Prospect Avenue offers WHCowork a ground-floor presence with street-level visibility, enhanced access for members, and a major upgrade: a newly designed Flex Space that will serve as a fully bookable venue for larger meetings of up to 12, wellness experiences, podcast and video recording, and creative gatherings seven days a week.
With this new space, WHCowork expands its ability to support not only its members, but also the wider community of local entrepreneurs, facilitators, and small business owners looking for space to gather, connect, and grow.
"We've had our HQ at West Hartford Coworking going on 3 years", says Shannon Perry, Executive Director of Soccer Shots Greater Hartford/Central CT, "and it's been the ideal environment for our team to grow and serve families across the region."
WHCowork will continue to offer private offices, shared desks, meeting and event space, virtual mail, and day passes, but the move introduces updated access systems and 24/7 secure bookability — all while preserving the warmth, flexibility, and inclusivity that members have come to expect.
“We’re thrilled to welcome WHCowork to 557 Prospect,” said Charlie Kaoud, landlord representative for the building. “As a family business ourselves, we immediately felt a connection to WHCowork’s mission and community-driven values. We’re excited to have them anchor this space and bring new life and purpose to the neighborhood.”
In addition to its coworking mission, WHCowork operates as a social enterprise of Bromleigh Enterprises — a Hartford–based, family-founded organization focused on supporting economic development through small business growth. The move to 557 Prospect Avenue reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to building thriving local ecosystems through access, entrepreneurship, and community connection.
In 2023, WHCowork opened its sister space, Windsor Worx, in Windsor Center — and now, with the move to 557 Prospect Avenue, WHCowork continues its ecosystem pollination across Greater Hartford. This move reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to neighborhood-level revitalization — first demonstrated through its six-plus years of presence and leadership in the transformation of the New Park Avenue corridor.
While WHCowork is relocating, it will continue to actively support its neighbors, partners, and friends along New Park Avenue as that now-thriving creative and commercial district continues to grow.
As part of the transition, recurring members will begin moving in mid-to-late October, with the new location opening more broadly shortly after. Until then, it’s business as usual at the current location. WHCowork plans to announce a multi-chamber ribbon cutting and celebration this Fall.
