WestConn to Host Tri-State Weather Conference

This is New England. Haring complaints about the weather is a daily occurrence. But some folks do more than complain - they forecast. And Western Connecticut State University - during the past decade - has become an annual gathering place for those who take weather seriously, and are serious about learning more.

The Ninth Tri-State Weather Conference will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, in the Science Building, Room 125, on the Western Connecticut State University Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.

The purpose of the conference is to enhance education, professional development, and communication among private and public sector meteorologists, researchers, educators, students, emergency management officials and weather enthusiasts.

The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Jason P. Tuell, Director of the Eastern Region, National Weather Service. Joining Tuell will be WestConn Professor of Biology Dr. Stephen (Mitch) Wagener, and Hayden Frank from the National Weather Service, Boston, Massachusetts.
