In 2011, the state legislature approved a plan to help students graduating from colleges in Connecticut save money to buy their first home. Although authorized, the program was never implemented. This year, the legislature is poised to try again, with a few alterations. So far, there has been unanimous support, and a mandatory start date is part of the proposal.
