Insuring the Future Industry Conference Returns to Hartford in October

The MetroHartford Alliance’s Connecticut Insurance & Financial Services (CT IFS) and the Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) are co-hosting the third annual Insuring the Future summit, October 29 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown, 12:30 – 6:00 PM.

This year’s Insuring the Future: Rewriting Risk in an Era of Uncertainty convenes insurance executives, regulators, and thought leaders as the industry addresses artificial intelligence, affordability pressures, evolving health trends, and other emerging global challenges reshaping the risk landscape.

Hosted in Hartford - the Insurance Capital of the World - this annual summit provides insider access to forward-looking risk mitigation strategies, responsible innovation, and collaborative regulatory approaches that are defining the future of insurance.

This year’s program is slated to expand the conversation around today’s landscape of uncertainty, exploring how the insurance industry is responding to an increasingly interconnected set of challenges, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, shifting health trends, market volatility, and evolving consumer expectations.

“Hartford is the Insurance Capital of the World - not just in name, but in action. The innovation, talent, and leadership driving the global insurance industry are happening right here,” said David Griggs, President & CEO, MetroHartford Alliance (MHA), ahead of last year’s summit. “Insuring the Future is more than an event; it’s a powerful platform to convene thought leadership and shape the insurance industry into the future.”

The MHA IFS website points out that the thousands of people in the region employed in the insurance industry are “meeting today’s challenges and setting the stage for the future of the industry,” and 22 percent of the state’s grow state product emanates from the insurance and financial services industry, totaling $54.6 billion.

CT IFS leadership, on behalf of 23 member companies, works closely with the State of Connecticut, meeting quarterly with the Commissioners of Economic Development, Banking, and Insurance. This public-private partnership is described as a “collaboration, aligning strategies and goals to drive economic growth and strengthen the insurance and financial services industry.”

A detailed agenda, speakers and panels for this year’s October 29 summit will be announced in the coming weeks.

“The strength of Hartford’s insurance industry lies in our history of innovation and our commitment to tackling the challenges of today and tomorrow,” Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam has noted. “By focusing on collaboration, technology, and talent, we are ensuring that Hartford remains the global leader in insurance for generations to come.”
